What Does it Fund?
With the help of Los Gatos parents, community members, and businesses, LGEF raises money to support core education programs for our K-8 Los Gatos Public School children. What are “core programs”? Science, Music, Art, Resources (social/emotional literacy and academic support programs), and Technology in LGUSD. To be a part of the core classroom curriculum, the core programs must be implemented on a district-wide basis, which is why LGEF raises money at each school and funds grants for programs at each school that are coordinated by the district.

LGEF will continue to pursue funding sources such as major gifts, grants, and corporation matches. Nevertheless, YOUR support is key: You are the foundation. Bottom line, we appreciate your past support and hope we can count on your continued support for your child and the other K-8 children in our public schools this year.

You can lend your support in many ways:

Donations: Our 2012 Annual Giving Campaign will run through the end of June, 2012. So, please pick up an envelope at front office or donate online to help us reach our goal of $1,000,000. We ask Parents in the District to consider a donation of $600 per child. There are some of us who can give more, and there are some of us who can give less. Regardless of the donation amount, the important thing is that we all have a stake in our children’s future – we all need to participate at a level that is comfortable for our family. With government funding and property values declining, LGEF’s partnership with our District is more important now than ever. Whether your gift is a one-time donation or is made in monthly installments, donations in any amount are always welcome and much appreciated! Business Partners: Our business partners help us raise 10% of our goal each year. We work hard to feature our business partners and provide them every benefit we possibly can to thank them for their generosity. New this year, we have Locals Shopping Wednesday.
